Formulated by a Integrative Physician with Degrees in both Eastern and Western medicine, this formulation accomplishes what other companies and physicians are trying to achieve with 2 or 3 separate products. The trademarked prebiotics, which include Actazin, Livaux and Preticx, have been shown in multiple studies to promote the healthy bacteria that are often deficient in patients suffering from IBS, IBD (Crohn's and Colitis), Leaky Gut( Intestinal Permeability), SIBO, Obesity, Autoimmune Disorder, Fibromyalgia, Bipolar disorder, Depression and many more. Mixes easily with your favorite drink, smoothie or juice.

  • PHYSICIAN FORMULATED/CLINICALLY PROVEN-This product is a combined Prebiotic and Leaky Gut repair powder designed to eliminate the need for multiple products. This is one of the most comprehensive formulas on the market regarding Gastrointestinal Health and is Physician formulated and Clinically proven for optimal results. This does everything from protecting and restoring mucosa to establishing a healthy balance of bacteria and lowering inflammation.
  • PROTECTIVE PREBIOTICS – This formula contains some of the strongest pre-biotics known in the scientific community. They will help promote many species of beneficial bacteria including F. Prau -- while simultaneously eradicating the harmful bacteria. Studies have shown reduced numbers of F. Prau in IBS, IBD (Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis), Constipation, Asthma, Obesity, Depression and Fibromyalgia
  • HEAL AND PROTECT MUCOSA – Slippery elm bark and marshmallow root powder are both proven to form healthy protective mucilage that are both therapeutic and soothing to the tissues they come in contact with. Research shows this mucilage content creates a protective layer of tissue on the lining of the digestive tract. These protective herbs also stimulates the cells that support tissue regeneration and treat the symptoms associated with IBD like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis
  • INHIBIT INFLAMMATION – Glutamine promotes the growth of the intestinal cells and the integrity of the gut lining. As a result it helps alleviate leaky gut, sepsis and inflammatory bowel syndrome. Glutamine suppresses pro-inflammatory pathways and severe apoptosis caused by traumatic metabolic stresses and pathologic conditions.
  • BOOST IMMUNITY- The research has shown that the ingredients in this product such as Colostrum, proline rich peptides, and Oligosaccharides, greatly stimulate our immune cells and enhance our immunity through the modulation of the Gastrointestinal microbiome.

What Are Prebiotics?

Prebiotics are substances which act as a food for the human microbiome. New research suggests that prebiotics may be much more important that probiotics. Instead of adding or supplementing with new bacteria, we should focus on feeding what is already present. There are thousands of species that make up the microbiome with large variations in the numbers of these bacteria that are present. To further complicate matters, these ratios are very individualized and vary from person to person. Therefore, an individualized approach should be taken with regards to probiotic supplementation and distributing the same probiotic supplement to a large group of individuals could be detrimental at worst and a waste of money at the very least. The fact is, there is not a one size fits all approach to probiotics, however this is not the case with prebiotics. This is because the microbiome loves vegetables and high fiber foods. The problem is that the average american is only eating roughly half of the recommended daily fiber. As a result the microbiome is suffering. A much more refined way of promoting the microbiome is to simply provide the necessary substances they feed on, and let the flora come into a proper balance based on the individual makeup. Within a balanced microbiome, the beneficial flora (Good Bugs) fight off the pathogenic flora (Bad Bugs) and give us good health. The prebiotics in Gut Food and Repair are backed by scientific studies and have been proven to feed and enhance the beneficial flora.

What is Leaky Gut?

Leaky Gut is a condition where in there is a breakdown of the intestinal barrier. This results in an increased intestinal permeability which allows for the passage of toxins, antigens, food proteins and bacteria to enter the bloodstream, initiating an immune response that can lead to all types of chronic disease. An imbalanced microbiome can lead to this disorder and Multiple diseases may arise or be exacerbated due to a leaky gut. These include autoimmune diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, autoimmune hepatitis, type 1 diabetes (T1D), multiple sclerosis, and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE.

Symptoms of Dysbiosis and or Leaky Gut

  1. Autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, celiac disease or Crohn's
  2. Chronic diarrhea, constipation, gas or bloating
  3. Nutritional deficiencies
  4. Poor immune system
  5. Headaches, brain fog, memory loss
  6. Excessive fatigue
  7. Skin rashes and problems such as acne, eczema or rosacea
  8. Arthritis or joint pain
  9. Depression, anxiety, ADD, ADH, Bipolar Disorder

Colostrum is the first form of milk produced by the mammary glands of mammals (including many humans) immediately following delivery of the newborn. Colostrum supports the newborn gut in the development of a healthy microbiota. Colostrum contains immunoglobulins such as IgG, IgA, IgM; the immune modulating molecule lactoferrin; fat-soluble vitamins including retinol, tocopherol, and beta-carotene; water soluble vitamins including niacin, thiamine, riboflavin, vitamin B12, pyridoxal, pyridoxamine, and pyridoxine; and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, iron, copper and manganese. It contains whey proteins, oligosaccharides, immunoglobulins, growth factors including IGF-1, IGF-2, TGFbeta and EGF, prolactin, and insulin. Fresh colostrum also contains both essential and non-essential amino acids, enzymes, and commensal bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium. Finally, colostrum contains a rich array of novel, potent signaling peptides called proline-rich peptides (PRPs).
Research shows that colostrum can restore a leaky gut lining to normal permeability levels.[8],[9]
Bovine colostrum can also restore the damage caused by anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to the gut lining. In addition,
The immunoglobulins in colostrum are especially impressive at combating gut pathogens, including H. pylori, E. coli and protozoan parasites and amoebas.[10],[11],[12] Antimicrobial effects are likely due to the presence of the antibody (immunoglobulin) complement system

Glutamine, the most abundant free amino acid in the human body, is a major substrate utilized by intestinal cells. The roles of glutamine in intestinal physiology and management of multiple intestinal diseases have been reported. In gut physiology, glutamine promotes enterocyte proliferation, regulates tight junction proteins, suppresses pro-inflammatory signaling pathways, and protects cells against apoptosis and cellular stresses during normal and pathologic conditions. As glutamine stores are depleted during severe metabolic stress including trauma, sepsis, and inflammatory bowel diseases, glutamine supplementation has been examined in patients to improve their clinical outcomes.

    Slippery Elm

Slippery elm, or Ulmus rubra, is a tree native to the central and eastern United States and Ontario, Canada.

when the bark is mixed with water, it generates a sticky material known as mucilage, which is therapeutic and soothing to anything it touches.

Slippery elm bark is a demulcent. This means that it is capable of soothing the lining of the stomach and intestines and reducing irritation. Demulcents are sometimes referred to as mucoprotective agents.

Recent studies have shown that slippery elm bark can help treat the symptoms associated with inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

    Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis) is a perennial herb that’s native to Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. It’s been used as a folk remedy for thousands of years to treat digestive, respiratory, and skin conditions.

Its healing powers are due in part to the mucilage it containsMarshmallow root may help soothe irritation and inflammation in the digestive tract.

An in vitro study from 2010 found that aqueous extracts and polysaccharides from marshmallow root can be used to treat irritated mucous membranes. Research suggests that the mucilage content creates a protective layer of tissue on the lining of the digestive tract. Marshmallow root may also stimulate the cells that support tissue regeneration.

PreticX™is a unique xylooligosaccharide (XOS) prebiotic ingredient that nourishes existing probiotic bacteria, favorably changing gut microflora composition to promote healthy, balanced immune system function, regularity and intestinal comfort.
In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study conducted by researchers at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), published in the Frontiers of Physiology1 which shows that daily doses as low as 1g of PreticX™, a XOS (xylooligosaccharide), significantly modified gut microbiota, helping to grow more species of good gut bacteria and reduce bad bacteria in both healthy people, and those who are over-weight with unhealthy blood glucose levels. Healthy gut bacteria are vital for Keeping the intestinal lining intact.

Actazin™ is a wholefood-based nutritional ingredient crafted from the nutrient-dense New Zealand green kiwifruit. Actazin™ was recently introduced to the marketplace to address the limitations of the existing digestive health ingredient options. Actazin™ consists of a variety of bioactive components including fiber and polyphenolics, contributing to its prebiotic activity, along with the kiwifruit-unique protein-digesting enzyme, actinidin

Actazin® gently helps bowel regularity with both soluble and insoluble fibre. In-vitro trials show that Actazin® is also a prebiotic, which means it feeds good intestinal bacteria and may assist probiotic supplements

Livaux™ is a wholefood-based nutritional ingredient option, crafted from the nutrient-dense New Zealand gold kiwifruit. It consists of a variety of bioactive components including fiber and polyphenolics, contributing to its prebiotic activity. Research shows that it helps specific beneficial bacteria – Faecalibacterium prausnitzii (F. prau) – to flourish and recover. This is a desirable situation because F. prau activity increases the amount of butyrate in your body. Butyrate is an important short-chain fatty acid that’s used as an energy source for cells throughout the body, including the cells lining the large intestine. Prebiotics feed intestinal bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFA). These nutrients fuel the intestinal mucosal cells that keep the lining of the gut intact and healthy. Low levels of F. prau are associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

DigeZyme ®: A Versatile Multi-enzyme Complex This proprietary preparation is a unique blend of specific digestive enzymes that offers much more than just aiding proper digestion and better absorption of nutrients. This multi-enzyme blend contributes to the full digestion of ingested foods thereby alleviating many of the conditions and symptoms of improper digestion. Strict raw material assays at body temperature are used to verify the quality of the enzymes used in Digezyme to ensure the maximum possible activity.
